2012 TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT CENTERS


DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A BETTER PLAYER? ...A BETTER COACH?

Mass Youth Soccer Technical Development Centers (formerly called Skills Academy) are returning in the Winter of 2012. Each Center is designed to help highly motivated players develop their technical skills and to increase the speed of their play. Weekly sessions are run by Mass Youth Soccer Staff Coaches at numerous locations across the state. The sessions are dynamic, fast-paced and will focus on all areas of technical development. The Centers are also an opportunity for Coaches to improve. Coaches are invited to attend. They will receive copies of the session plan and will have the opportunity to discuss the session with the Mass Youth Staff Coach. Our Technical Development Centers are a tremendous opportunity for your players and coaches to improve in an intense, fun and memorable soccer environment. 

WHERE IS THERE A TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER CLOSE TO ME?   The Centers are is conducted in the various cities and towns across the state listed below.  The number of Centers that Mass Youth can operate is limited. We attempt to run them in regionally central locations and want to include all parts of the state.  DON'T BE LATE! ORGANIZE AND RESERVE YOUR TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT CENTERTODAY!!! WHO CAN ATTEND?     All players born from 1998 through 2001 and all youth soccer coaches affiliated with Mass Youth Soccer are invited. Generally players born in 2000 or 2001 will play during the first hour and players born in 1998 and 1999 will play in the second hour.

WHEN ARE THE CENTERS RUN?     Most of the Centers will begin the week of January 8th. The Centers that will operate on Thursday, Friday or Saturday will start the week of January 15th. The Centers will run for 10 weeks (excluding school vacation week).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?     Enrollment in a 2012 Technical Development Center will cost $135/player for all 10 weeks. Once the sessions begin, there will be no refunds.

WHAT WILL WE WORK ON?  The Centers are designed to help players focus on and improve all of their technical skills. Players will work on individual development including ball manipulation, ball mastery and individual attacking and how and when to use them in game situations. Each session will consist of 40 minutes of skill acquisition and 20 minutes of small sided games in which to practice the “Technique of the Day”.

WHO ARE THE COACHES?   Mass Youth Soccer State Staff Coaches, Development Coaches, Instructional Staff Coaches and ODP Staff Coaches all under the direction of Ian Mulliner, Mass Youth Soccer's Technical Director, will be conducting the sessions.
