If you are interested in running for any of the listed open Board positions, please indicate your interest in the position by sending an email to Steve Smoller, Secretary of the Board of Directors at ssmoller@yahoo.com on or before 5pm, January 31, 2012. Your email must specify the position in which you are interested. Along with your email, you must also submit
a. a letter of intent, stating your intention to run for the specified office and a brief statement as to why you are seeking the position.
b. a resume specifically outlining your activities in youth soccer.
All submissions will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee and all applicants who are determined to be qualified for the position will be placed on the slate that the Nominating Committee will present to the general membership for a vote at the Annual General Meeting. A copy of the slate will be posted on the Massachusetts Youth Soccer website on or before February 15, 2012.
Didn't get Nominated but still interested in running for a position on the Board?
Other candidates may be nominated by a writing signed by or on behalf of at least five (5) Members and/or Directors and received by the President and the Executive Director at least twenty-one (21) days before the Annual General Meeting. The writing must be emailed to
msingleton@mayouthsoccer.org. Any such nomination by petition shall be accompanied by a resume of the candidate setting forth all of the candidate’s applicable experience in youth soccer and a personal statement from the candidate setting forth the candidate’s reason’s for standing for election. No person shall be eligible to be elected to an office who has not been nominated as provided herein. You must identify the position for which you desire to run. If the position is one of the District positions, you must live in the that particular district and your 5 nominating members must come from that district. If the position you are interested in running for is not an at large position but rather one of the other 11 positions on the board, the 5 organizations can come from anywhere in the state. The Nominating Committee shall be charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the selection process results in those candidates being nominated who have a significant history of prior service to youth soccer and are able to fulfill the duties of the office to which such candidate shall stand for election.
